Summary

Main topic of this paper is parking lots and parking capacity in Olomouc city. The aim of this thesis is to collect data about public parking, to propose visualization methods of gathered data and analyze all of the data. Thesis was discussed with municipality of Olomouc and other authorities and the mutual cooperation was created. It was needed to perform a mapping of the whole city to collect needed information about parking lots. The mapping procedure was carried out using an android GPS device. Collected data were processed and analyzed in various GIS softwares. As an outcomes of this work there are several analog and digital maps, web application and the whole parking situation database. In the end the statistical evaluation of spatial distribution of parking lots was performed. This paper provides detailed information about parking situation in Olomouc city for further works and planning in traffic development.
