The methods used for writing this bachelor’s thesis were the most modern methods available, such as online surveys.

These were employed in the process of preparation to verify the usefulness of this work. To test the suitability of the designed scales for printed maps, printed questionnaires were used.

Online survey (survio.com) with testing stimuli for interval scales (9 intervals) where the respondents had to choose the stimuli then helped to compare these research methods.

Another method was eye-tracking which served to test chosen distance of colours between intervals in colour scales. The results were evaluated statistically – the data were saved in *.txt files, OGAMA 5.0 software analyzed and visualized them. Various methods (such as Tukey, Transition matrix or Scanpath) were used to process the data and to reach the conclusion.

This thesis was consulted extensively and think-aloud method of evaluation or supportive online tools for identification of problematic colours were used. For more information go to chapter of bachelor thesis 6.1 (full bachelor thesis just in czech).
