Brus J., Kovařík, P., Poprach, K., Pechanec, V., Machar, I. (2019). Sacral monuments in the territory of the Archdiocese of Olomouc in the context of European natural heritage (Natura 2000). Specialized map with expert content.
The aim of the created map was to visualize the spatial distribution of individual objects with regard to the representation of European significant species in the Archdiocese of Olomouc. Natura 2000 is a system of protected areas created by all European Union countries according to uniform principles. The aim of this system is to ensure the protection of those species of animals, plants and types of natural habitats that are the most valuable, most endangered, rare or restricted to a particular area (endemic) from a European perspective. The map provides users with the opportunity to assess the ADO area in terms of the occurrence and, above all, the proportional representation of species of European importance in selected sacred objects. The map thus synthesises the knowledge gained from the inventory and, thanks to the analyses used, also helps to identify significant areas from the perspective of European natural heritage. The resulting map provides a new perspective on the studied area and demonstrates the uniqueness of sacral objects not only on a national but also on a European scale.
