The project contributed to the involvement of our country in international research and documentation of myrmecofauna. Its main objective is to evaluate the importance of myrmecological collections stored in Czech, Moravian and Silesian museums for the study of biodiversity of Central Europe and to bring new knowledge about its development. The results can be used as the up-to-date, informed basis for the conservation of endangered parts of nature, for the education of the professional and lay public and for the presentation of the Czech Republic as an important area for the preservation of the rich diversity of the natural environment of Central Europe.
