The aim of the project is to identify obstacles and opportunities for cross-border distribution of Czech music production and the proposal for their removal or use. The project consists in analyzing the availability of domestic repertoire in selected catalogs of online services, analysis of concert performances of Czech musicians abroad, evaluating the distribution strategies and intermediaries, describing examples of best practices, identifying cultural and market barriers to cross-border content distribution and proposing solutions (new markets, new distribution strategies, online services and intermediaries for each type of content). The results of the project – export map, export mapping methodology, academic publications and conferences – will help the application guarantor (SoundCzech, MMF and SAI) to implement export support measures and acquaint musicians with the most efficient distribution strategies. The project will help inform the actors in the music market in order to improve the position of Czech music production on the domestic and foreign markets and to introduce a systematic and continuous mapping of the export of Czech music production by one of the application guarantors (SoundCzech).
