Master thesis deals with the evaluation of the user interface GIS products using interactive eye-tracking testing. It focuses on the evaluation of the user interface of two free GIS products available product QGIS Valmiera, and commercial product Esri ArcGIS. The tests are compiled from five geotasks interactive solutions. As respondents to interactive eye-tracking test, are elected by students from the Department of Geoinformatics, Faculty of Science, Palacký University in Olomouc. Selected GIS products are at work tested in two experiments. One focuses on the QGIS Valmiera and the other on Esri ArcGIS. Data acquired interactive eye-tracking testing are subsequently analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. As a qualitative analysis methods are chosen method of Gridded AOIs and The Key Performance Indicators method. Of these methods is then further processed value of eye-tracking metrics Dwell Time. According metrics Dwell Time is a quantitative assessment of the user interface GIS products. Qualitative assessment is done at work using tools Forevid. All the results from the various eye-tracking test and exports Dwell Time Metrics are available on DVD annexes work. Evaluate user habits when dealing geotasks is drafted in the final chapter of results.
