Summary

This bachelor thesis deals with evaluation of cultural and creative industries (CCI) in Olomouc using the spatial and non-spatial analysis. The work is based on the data generated within the mapping CCI in 2017. Statistical and geoinformatical methods are used to evaluate the current state of the localization of the CCI in Olomouc. Bachelor thesis explains spatial pattern of CCI quantitatively and qualitatively, it tackles their mutual conditionality and their connection with relevant facts based on socioeconomic and demographic data.

This thesis intends to highlight contemporary trends in cultural and creative industries and to increase the interest of the public and of the city of Olomouc in this topic. The definition of creative areas in Olomouc with the potential to develop cultural and creative industries is beneficial for understanding the needs of CCI. The thesis deals with the spatial distribution of individual sectors and variability of the needs of individuals of CCI. The results of this work help the effectivity of CCI’s support, the cooperation of CCI subjects and especially for the planning of the city future development.

Creativity is one of the last remaining legal ways of gaining an unfair advantage over the competition.
