Summary

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to use geoinformatics methods to analyse the structure and character of urban areas in connection with localization theories of economic geography. In the theoretical part, localization is placed in the context of today's development of urban systems.

In the practical part, individual localization theories are tested on the basis of the theoretical part. First of all, the data is corrected and transformed so that it is suitable for the use in geographic information systems. Subsequently, the data are analysed using geographic information systems.

The results of the analysis of H. Hotelling's theory were interpreted in the form of graphs, diagrams and box fences. The results of the remaining theories were visualized cartographically in the form of map outputs or in the form of a web application (Theory of Central Places).
