Objectives
A brief description of the goals and aims of this diploma thesis
The main goal of the diploma thesis is to analyse the available data on the biodiversity of wild species and then perform a suitable geovisualization of the analysis results and perform knowledge gained interpretation. The student will focus on the educational potential.
The target group of created outcomes will be pupils, students, and the general public interested in the presented topic. The main aim is to introduce them to the biodiversity of wild species and enable them a more detailed study of selected geo-aspects. For this purpose, the student will create a website to share the structured outputs in the educational design with appropriate commentary.
The student will analyse existing data sources, select interesting topics, and design appropriate methods for geovisualization in the theoretical part. In the practical part, the student will prepare a set of geovisualizations with interpretations. The student will follow the principles of modern (carto)graphic design, including infographics. For topics where it is possible, the student will use Copernicus Data and Information Services. The main result of the diploma thesis will be a web page presenting a set of outcomes and geovisualizations on the selected topics with an educational focus.
