This diploma thesis is focusing on the current topic of web maps via analysis of selected aspects. The theoretical part of the thesis includes a state-of-art analysis of web maps in general and description of selected parameters. At the same time choose of the most popular weather maps, is justified. There is also a primary analysis of the used methods of cartographic visualization. The practical part of the diploma thesis evaluates the degree of interactivity of web maps, portals, and applications, focusing on user aspects of these maps. The user's (visual) aspect of selected weather maps is evaluated. The practical part of the thesis implements the online questionnaire method, eye-tracking technology with the use of the scientific method of thinking aloud, and statistical calculations for evaluation of obtained data sets. The results of the work should be useful for further scientific research on web-based maps and their user aspects.
